This is Trevor, the Vice President of our club over education. As a presidency we talked recently about ways that we could utilize the area schools and get more hands-on-experience for our club. In our discussion, we came to the conclusion that we needed to be out volunteering in the area schools more. So, I emailed the teachers in the local area and some of them have given me a schedule that we can go over and volunteer. Here they are;
Teresa Redd
teresa.redd@ironmail.org
Canyon View Middle School
7:00 - 7:40 a.m. Honor Orchestra
8:00 - 8:56 a.m. Drama
9:00 - 9:46 a.m. Orchestra II (7-8th grade class)
10: 51 - 10:35 a.m. Orchestra I (6th grade class)
10:45 a.m. - 11:26 a.m. 6th grade choir
11:30 - 12:20 a.m. 7-9th grade choir
Her only request is that you email a few days before heading over,
Lauralyn Anderson

Canyon View Middle Band
Mrs. Anderson says that we are literally welcome anytime. She has instituted an open door policy for any SUU student to come and help. As soon as I have a schedule from her, I will put it up here.
Steve Shirts
steve.shirts@ironmail.org
Cedar High Band
They have band from 7:50 to 9:17 everyday. Jazz band is at 7 in the morning every day as well. If you are interested in observing or helping with percussion ensemble it is on A days from 9:24-10:51. If you email Mr Shirts a few days ahead of time he will plan class so you can be very effective and helpful.
David Palmer and Allan Lee
david.palmer@ironmail.org, allan.lee@ironmail.org
Cedar Middle School Band
Due to the setup of their band program they can take volunteers at anytime. They teach several band classes from 8:00 to 12:20 and then have percussion from 1:40-2:30
Mike Wallace at Parowan High could use our help as well. Parowan is a unique place to volunteer because they have choir and band from beginning to advanced. If you are gonna go, please email him at mike.wallace@ironmail.org This is his note to us
1st: 8:00-9:24; 2nd: 9:31-10:55; (LUNCH) 3rd: 11:40-1:04; 4th: 1:11-2:35
A1: 7th and 8th grade band
A2: (Prep)
A3: High School Choir
A4: 5th and 6th grade band
B1: Second half of the hour is percussion ensemble
B2: (Independent study)
B3: High School Band
B4: 5th and 6th grade band
I could use someone in any class, if you have volunteers to drive out here. The I.S. students are fine, but in the other classes, I could use the extra help, especially 5th and 6th grade band.
As I get more schedules I will post them on this blog.
Please take advantage of this opportunity.
If you have any questions about volunteering; what you would do, where the schools are etc. Please ask me or someone else in the presidency. As we get out into the schools we will improve as teachers, and go out into the teaching world prepared and ready for anything.
